Empowering Students.  Employing Professionals.
Give your Students the Technical Theatre Education they Deserve
As a high school teacher you want to give all your students every opportunity to succeed, to learn the skills necessary to advance excel in an ever advancing, technologically challenging world. As a Theatre Arts teacher you struggle to provide the mentoring that professionals in the field have to offer. But you also are aware of the hard reality that Theatre Arts programs are not a high priority for school administrations. Too few high schools can or will provide their students with the technical theatre education needed to learn the wide range of transferable skills for today’s workforce.

Are you a "One-person-show"?
By that we mean, you are all things to all your students. You're a teacher, director, lighting designer, sound person, set designer, and technical director, to name just a few. In short you play many parts. You do the best  job you can with what you have, but you feel that your students need something more. They want and deserve the experience of a professional technician/artist to mentor them in the fine aspects of Technical Theatre.

We are S•T•A•G•E

S•T•A•G•E is a non-profit organization that provides a sponsorship to pay professional artists and technicians to educate your high school technical theatre students, and best of all, with absolutely zero cost to your school, program or district.

Who are the Sponsors?
The
S•T•A•G•E sponsor team organizations are primarily companies that provide supplies and services to the professional technical theatre industry, organizations and individuals who support the arts, and others who respect supporting vocational programs like technical theatre in high schools.

What do Sponsors Receive in Return?

S•T•A•G•E team sponsors value giving to their community and being known as good corporate citizens by supporting a cause that tells their clients and customers they support the performing arts in our schools. They gain positive media opportunities to grow their customer base, and reach their future target market – today’s high school students are their next generation of customers, users, and advocates. There are many simple creative ways that you may give to thank a sponsor. Below is a list of examples of how you can thank your sponsor:
  • Product demos with vocational students
  • Tours/meet & greets with vocational students
  • Company identification in play programs
  • Company logo exposure on play posters
  • Company logo visibility on cast and crew t-shirts
  • Company recognition on Facebook page
  • Complimentary tickets to talented shows
  • Company profile on website
  • Further opportunities to collaborate.

Do I Need to Hire my own Technicians/Artists?

Yes.
S•T•A•G•E provides fair compensation to the technicians/artists with whom you already have a working relationship at the time of application. S•T•A•G•E is not an employment agency and cannot contract technicians and artists for you.

How do Technicians and Artists get Paid?

S•T•A•G•E sends payment to your technician/artist directly – your school and/or district does not need to get involved with any financial transactions. We will provide your technician/artist with a W-9 to complete, and then send them a 1099 form at tax time.
